Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja

Description: The park centers around two volcanoes, Volcán Rincón de la Vieja 1,806 m, (5,959 feet) and Volcán Santa María 1907 m, (6,293 feet). They are the largest of the volcanoes that make up the Cordillera de Guanacaste. There are nine eruption points on the summit of Rincón de la Vieja. There are several hot water lagoons and small mud and gas springs. The Pacific side of the mountains are seasonally parched and the Caribbean side is humid. Services include camping areas, natural trails, information center.
